The Centre for Human Rights and Prevention of Trafficking in Persons (CHRiPTiP) is a registered non-governmental, non-profit organization established in 2019 with a commitment to advancing human rights, social justice, and sustainable community development across Nigeria and beyond. Registered under the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 1990, Part C, with Registration Number CAC/IT/ND131264, CHRiPTiP has steadily grown into a reputable organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable populations and promoting inclusive development.
Founded by Barr. John Simon Tsok, LL.M., B.L., LL.B., HD Journalism, a distinguished legal practitioner, human rights advocate, and development expert, the organization was established in response to the increasing need for coordinated interventions against human trafficking, human rights violations, gender inequality, and social exclusion.
Since its inception, CHRiPTiP has continually expanded its portfolio of development programs by promoting sustainable and participatory development, strengthening communities through advocacy, capacity building, public education, media engagement, research, and policy dialogue. The organization works collaboratively with government institutions, civil society organizations, development partners, traditional institutions, and local communities to foster lasting social transformation.
At the heart of CHRiPTiP’s mission is the protection and promotion of the rights and dignity of all people, with particular emphasis on women, children, minority groups, internally displaced persons, and victims and survivors of human trafficking. Through community mobilization, legal awareness campaigns, skills development, human resource development, and advocacy initiatives, the organization empowers individuals and communities to become active participants in their own development.
CHRiPTiP operates at both the national and regional levels, implementing evidence-based interventions that address the root causes of trafficking in persons, gender-based violence, discrimination, and other human rights challenges while promoting peace, justice, and inclusive societies.
The organization’s founder is an active member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and the International Catholic Migration Commission (ICMC) and serves as the Nigerian Representative at the Centre for Non-Violence and Conflict Transformation (CNCT), Rockford, Illinois, USA. These affiliations strengthen CHRiPTiP’s commitment to international best practices, strategic partnerships, and innovative approaches to human rights promotion and trafficking prevention.
Guided by the principles of integrity, accountability, professionalism, inclusiveness, respect for human dignity, and community participation, CHRiPTiP continues to build resilient communities where every individual enjoys equal rights, opportunities, and protection from exploitation.
